Missed Connections

As you may have guessed by the title, this blog entry is about Missed Connections. For those of you clueless people, Missed Connections (MC) is a subset of the now-infamous website, Craigslist. Basically, its main purpose is to allow people to post an entry about someone they may have quickly walked past, seen on the subway, etc. in hopes that said person will read it and contact them back.
Example: To the tall blonde on the F train around 9am this morning...I really think you're pretty and would love to take you out sometimes. I was the guy in the green shirt and black pants - we made eye contact. Let me know if you're interested.

Here's my thing: There aren't too many entries on there. I mean, if you're single, you know you're one of those people who totally check out people along the way of your commute. Obviously, because we're all wusses most of the time, you're not going to randomly go up to a stranger and start up a conversation with them. MC acts as that filter.

These days, it's just less pressure to communicate with people via email and texts than to put in time over a phone call. So my theory is that if MC was more popular, and everyone used it - there would be more connections between people. It's much less pressure to post something, have the other person reciprocate communication and make plans to meet, marry and have babies. Consider it your ice breaker.

That being said, my goal is to really figure out how to get people to start using this. Because no one is going to post something if not a lot of people are reading/know about it and the chances of his missed connection actually reading this are slim. SO, perhaps I'll start a new website and dedicate it to only missed connections. Sure, it's a rip-off of Craigslist, but this Craig guy has a lot going for him already and I really see the potential in this.

For the record, I'm officially patenting this shit right now and the website is going to be called: www.Did-I-Z-You.com Did I Z You - Did I See You? get it? Genius.

Anyone know how to make websites?

By the way, to that guy in the green shirt I passed today on Washington Street...We were in front of Carlo's Bakery when we walked by each other. You smiled at me and it seemed like you were going to stop and ask me something. You're pretty cute! I was wearing a black dress and drinking a re-juice-a-nation. Email me!
