OK - So, last night's debate. I obviously have a lot of unconventional-type-pundit thoughts. They are going to be written about in no particular order. But, I gotta tell you - I'm pretty sure I'm no longer going to be part of the non-partisan demographic.
I love how McCain always starts off his debates announcing that someone resptable from the Republican party is in the hospital. This time around, it was Nancy Reagan. It's a bit like name-dropping, don't you think? For those people who are true Republicans at heart, but aren't quite sure if they should vote for McCain this year, they are sucked back in by one factor and one factor only: Loyalty. It's like he wants the Republicans to base who they vote for on the loyalty to their party because of the respect they have for a fellow Republican. Guess what, McCain? Dick Cheyney is also in the hospital, but you don't give him a shout out? Is it because you don't want your party to be associated with a negative member?
I must say, I really LOVE to read Facebook Status Updates on my blackberry while I watch the debates. It's amazing how many people have the same message subjects. Once in a while, you even get some that are exactly the same -- and that's weird. Last night, there was a lot of "I wonder if Joe Six Pack knows Joe the Plumber?" and another one, "If Sarah Palin is what is considered a role model for women, then get me a sex change operation pronto!" I would say, that 95% of people had status updates related to the debates. For those who didn't, I have to say, I judged you. The people whose "TV Nights" that were ruined from the debate running on every channel, shame on you. Get in the game, people!
McCain, get over what people are saying negatively behind your back. Honestly. You too, Barack. You guys can't help what crazy Americans are going to say or do to support something they believe in. Hell, you can get a blowjob in the Oval Office and your followers will still support you.
At one point, Senator Obama made a really good point about the American people not really being concerned with his or Senator McCain's hurt feelings. I mean, it's true. I think in past elections, there was a lot more he-said/she-said going on and a lot more drama. Perhaps there is still that same amount going on this time, but I really don't care about the drama between the campaigns. What I really care about this time around are the issues. Does anyone else feel that way?
John McCain really sounded like an asshole when he was referencing a win for his favorite football team. Obama strategically congratulated him, in an obvious sarcastic way. I mean, really John? I'm glad you have time to sit back with your nachos, beer and other heart-attack inducing products and watch a good ol' football game with the boys. DING DONG, you're in the middle of a campaign. Get to fucking work. What's going to happen in the White House if you're put in there? Are Superbowl Sundays going to consist of keg stands and a game of Pass The Retard during half-time??
Speaking of Palin's kid, I was really sick and tired of John McCain mentioning him, referencing how Sarah Palin knows special needs kids [needs] more than anyone else. Really? Who makes her the expert? I'm serious. Having down syndrome in your family is certainly upsetting to most. I think families with those special children were feeling degrated more than compelled to vote McCain/Palin. Why does THAT particular mother know more about any other mother. It wouldn't bother me so much if he didn't say on more than one occasion that Sarah Palin "knows more about specialty needs children than anyone else."
I thought Obama hit McCain with in a very good taste of IN YOUR FACE and a side of TOUCHE. When McCain was talking about researching and funding for special needs children, Obama made a remark about where we'd need to get the money for such a thing. Those digs were made by McCain earlier in the debate, when he was trying to bring Obama down.
McCain's sarcasm bothers me to no end. He is rude and he is crude.
I like how Obama talks in lists of numbers. I like that because 1. It makes more sense 2. Your points come across more clear and 3. it keeps things more organized.
McCain happened to bag on Obama how he's never been to South of the Border. Let me ask you something...Where has Sarah Palin been?
McCain wants to work on the overweight problem and put fitness programs in school. Last I checked, this was called Gym Class
Loved Loved, LOVED when Obama concluded one of his thoughts with, "That includes you, Joe."
I get that Obama is black. But does he look more black than he really is becase McCain is so unbelievably white?
You know what, people? It all comes down to which President will make a difference for YOU. I feel like, we, The American People, will see and feel a difference with Senator Barack Obama. (This message has been approved by Zlata. Zlata and http://ihavezlatathoughts.blogspot.com officially announce their endorsement of Senator Barack Obama)
Note: 1. It's late 2. I'm here but like not here, if you catch my drift and 3. I didn't use spell check.
