TV TimeZ and Casting CallZ

ESPN launched a new social networking tool called "Section 140" that allows Division 1 College Football fans to comment on games they're watching in Twitter-style text bursts. The app will work across multiple ESPN platforms including ESPN Mobile (via Windows phones), ESPN.com and ESPN360.com via features like Scoreboards, GameCast and Alerts. On Saturday afternoons from noon-6 p.m. ET, a roster of ESPN experts will also utilize Section 140 to chat and impart knowledge to fans.

Marc Cherry (Desperate Housewives) is in talks with ABC to develop a new one-hour series project for the network,, which he will write and possibly executive produce with current Desperate Housewives executive producer, Alexandra Cunningham. The project has been called a spinoff of Desperate Housewives although it will be a stand-alone program with a tone similar to the popular show.
