  • HBO moved quickly to renew its new series Boardwalk Empire for a second season after the drama debuted Sunday night. Boardwalk Empire's Sunday at 9p premiere gave the premium cable network its largest debut audience in more than six years (since March 21, 2004 when Deadwood premiered with The Sopranos lead-in). Boardwalk Empire averaged 4.8 million viewers for the first airing at 9p. Additional airings of the show's opener at 1015p and 1130p, was watched by a combined 7.1 million viewers for the night
  • Comedy Central launches new episodes of its animated comedy series Ugly Americans starting October 6 at 1030p. The series centers on Mark Lilly (voiced by Matt Oberg) a social worker at the Department of Integration who helps new citizens, human and otherwise adapt to life in New York City.
