Actress Debi Mazar, known for her roles in the film Goodfellas and on HBO's Entourage, is also a foodie and will star with her husband Gabriele Corcos in the new series, Extra Virgin for the Cooking Channel. The new series debuts January 19 at 10p and will blend Mazar's Queens, NY background with Gabriele's Tuscan homeland as they share their passion for food and family. The show will be shot in Los Angeles, Florence and Fiesole, Italy.
MTV is readying the new docu-series Teen Mom 2 opening January 11 at 10p. The series follows teen moms, Chelsea, Jenelle, Kailyn and Leah from the cast of the second season of 16 and Pregnant. The series, like MTV's series Teen Mom, offers first-hand accounts from the young woman as they each face the difficult challenges of being young while raising a child.
Comedy Central is reupping its animated comedy series Ugly Americans for a second season with 14 episodes slated to premiere in June 2011. The series is about Mark Lilly (voice talent of Matt Oberg), a social worker at the "Department of Integration" where he helps new citizens, human and otherwise, adapt to life in chaotic New York City. Season one of Ugly Americans, which debuted on March 17, 2010, averaged 2 million total viewers during its run. The series is created by Devin Clark and is executive produced by David M. Stern and Daniel Powell; Aaron Augenblick and Richard Ferguson-Hull are animation directors and Lisa Leingang serves as the executive in charge of production for the network.
Marc Cherry, showrunner on ABC's Desperate Housewives, is developing a new drama for ABC titled Hallelujah. The plot is set in the small town of Hallelujah, Tennessee that is torn apart by forces of good and evil. Things are put to right when a stranger moves to town bringing justice, peace and faith to the residents. Cherry will write and executive produce the project and Sabrina Wind will also serve as an executive producer. ABC Studios will produce where Cherry already has a large overall deal.
Animal Planet commissioned a new miniseries from Darlow Smithson Productions titled Infested! revealing real-life, true stories of people whose homes are plagued by bizarre infestations from scorpions, spiders, bedbugs, rats and other creepy creatures. The three-part miniseries debuts January 9 with back-to-back episodes.
