The aftermath of New York City’s snowstorm left most streets unplowed, as most island-residents know. This led to an overabundance of garbage piled up on the sidewalks, since waste management couldn’t get down the streets.
Cut to: Vangelis Kapatos, 26, jumped from his family’s apartment on 45th and Eighth, with the intention of ending his life. The only reason he’s alive? The garbage pile.
He hated his life so much, he tried to end it – and failed. In all seriousness, I feel badly. Apparently, he has a history of mental problems, has tried suicide before and had just recently come out of a psychiatric facility. Sigh …
