Steve Carrell departs NBC's The Office with an extra 50 minutes.  NBC "supersized" the April 28 episode featuring Carrell for the last time and the special ep will air from 9p to 950p.  Not to be outdone, Parks and Recreation will also have an extended episode on April 28 from 950p to 1030p followed by a normal sized ep of 30 Rock at 1030p. 


Summer lineup of new and returning series on USA Network:
  • June 7 serves up the season three opener of White Collar at 9p followed by a second season of Covert Affairs at 10p.
  • Later on June 23, the fifth season of Burn Notice debuts at 9p with new series, Suits(formerly titled A Legal Mind) premiering at 10p.
  • Royal Pains is back for a third season beginning June 29 at 9p with new series Necessary Roughness launching at 10p.
Bravo's upcoming music competition series, Platinum Hit bows May 30 at 10p with host Jewel and head judge Kara DioGuardi.  The series follows 12 aspiring musicians as they endure a series of songwriting challenges in pursuit of a $100,000 cash prize, a publishing deal with Sony, BMI Songwriters The Writing Camp and a recording agreement with RCA/Jive. Keith Naftaly, SVP of A&R for RCA/Jive Label Group at Sony Music Entertainment will be a featured judge throughout the competition series and other guest judges will include Leona Lewis, Natasha Bedingfield, Donna Summer, Jermaine Dupri, Taio Cruz and Ryan Tedder.  True Entertainment produces Platinum Hit for Bravo.

A seventh season of Taboo opens on National Geographic Channel May 2 with stacked episodes beginning at 9p.  Following its premiere, the one-hour series will move to its regular time slot of Mondays at 10p.  Taboo is produced by Beyond Entertainment Limited. 



Royal Wedding Watch on ABC News:
  • ABC News with anchors Diane Sawyer and Barbara Walters offers a special live presentation from Buckingham Palace on April 29 beginning at 4a to 10a followed by a live West Coast edition of Good Morning America.  GMA's co-anchor Robin Roberts will generate live reports from Westminster Abbey.
  • The ABC trio of Sawyer, Walters and Roberts will be joined in London by a team from ABC News including ABC World News weekend anchor David Muir, as he funnels real-time reactions to the wedding via Twitter and Facebook; 20/20 anchor Chris Cuomo; Nightline co-anchor Cynthia McFadden; GMA Weekend co-anchor Bianna Golodryga; ABC News' London-based correspondent Nick Watt; and ABC News Special Royal Correspondent Katie Nicholl.
  • ABC News begins its Royal Wedding coverage with a Special Edition of 20/20: William & Catherine: A Modern Fairytale anchored by Barbara Walters on April 18.  Furthermore, on the eve of the wedding, 20/20 at 8p will offer a behind-the-scenes look at Catherine's new life as a princess anchored by Chris Cuomo in London and Elizabeth Vargas in New York.  After the wedding, Walters will host another special two-hour 20/20 on April 29 at 9p.
  • Good Morning America's live coverage from different London locations commences throughout the week of April 25 helmed by Robin Roberts while Diane Sawyer anchors ABC World News live from London starting April 27 through April 29.

BBC America reminds US viewers the BBC has covered Royal Weddings since George VI's marriage to Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon in 1923 and on April 29, the network will serve up five and a half hours of live commercial-free coverage of William and Catherine's nuptials beginning at 3a.  BBC America's coverage is a simulcast with BBC One led by BBC news anchor Huw Edwards.  BBC America will chronicle the Royal Wedding events as the Royal Family arrives at Westminster Abbey, the first look at Catherine's wedding dress, the actual wedding ceremony starting at 6a, views of the newly-married couple on their journey to Buckingham Palace to the moment when Prince William and Princess Catherine greet the London crowds on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.  In addition, BBC America will offer live reports from St. Andrew's University in Scotland where William and Catherine first met, Catherine's home village of Bucklebury and from various UK military bases as well as exclusive live reporting on board the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight as it flies over London in honor of the newlyweds. 



Casting Call: GMC is hosting a national casting call for its new original series America Sings hosted by Drew Lachey.  America Sings launches as a weekly series this June.  The show is seeking singing groups of any age who are willing to showcase their talents on national television with the chance to win $10,000.  Singing groups could be church choirs, school music ensembles, barbershop, choral, doo wop and more. Interested singing groups are invited to submit a performance video and entry information is available at: www.watchgmctv.com/ sing.
