I find it amazing how there are websites and blogs for ANY topic you can imagine.
Recently, I was talking to a co-obsessed American Idol co-worker about who she thought was going to win tonight. In three seconds, she immed me back links to various surveys and polls to inform me of what the "experts" think. I mean, not for nothing - but how do can I become an expert on such a pivitol moment in time - when the next American Idol is crowned? Is there a specific class I need to take?
One would think that these self-proclaimed experts study trends, review call logs and possibly study the Farmer's Almanac. Who knows?
One thing I DO often wonder is how such a secret is so well kept. When I was collecting votes for my senior class "Bests" - I couldn't keep it to myself. As soon as I realized that my best friend won Best Eyes, I quickly morse coded her (we didn't have cell phones back then) with the good news! That being said, the people who actually KNOW the winner before they're announced are pretty important potential informants. Plenty of people are involved in American Idol pools for a crazy amount of money. Now, if I were one of these people, I'd gladly hunt down the aforementioned informants and beat the crap out of them until they told me. For the record, I'd also have done this had I thought of it earlier, when I was crazily obsessed with Blake Lewis.
Anyway, let's stick to tonight. David vs. David -- Who will it be?? I think David - you?
David Achuletta is cute, looks like Ricky Dojer and has a kind sweet soul - this we can see. However, his songs and voice are unoriginal and somewhat boring. I'm not denying that he's a good singer, but I do think he's a poor performer.
Cook, on the otherhand, has spunk, changes songs to be more 'popular,' as instructed and just has this pure unfiltered voice that I've fallen in love with.
I'd be happy with either one winning, only because of the pros and cons that come along with the title. If Archuletta wins, it could be the best thing to ever happen to David Cook. The American Idol title has been the kiss of death for everyone who has won (minus of course the FIRST, Kelly Clarkson.)
So there you have it - my vote goes for David Cook as the best PERFORMER and best SINGER. However, I don't know if I really want him to win.
I do want to makeout with him, though.
Over and Out.
