American Idol Finale and DVR

Well, I must say that I feel bad for anyone who watched American Idol on DVR.
The preset time was from 9pm-10:02pm -- but those who know what I'm talking about, know that the show went overtime, and DVR cut off just as Ryan Seacrest announced who the winner was. "The winner by 12 million votes of American Idol 2008 is ... David-----------------------"

Luckily, I had set the DVR to record the program directly after AI, for fear of such a catastrophe. However, when switching to that recording, the winner had already been announced, and both Davids were in an embrace. The look on Cook's face gave the false impression that he had lost. My roommates and I watched as Archuletta's parents and fans clapped, and as he walked over to his fellow Idols to give them all hugs. It was not until Cook was left standing on stage with Ryan motioning towards him and saying "David Cook, ladies and gentlemen," that we realized HOLY SHIT, IT'S NOT ARCHULETTA, IT'S DAVID COOK!!! I quickly jumped to my feet and shrieked so loud that my one roommate feared the police would show up.

All in all, the right man really won. I am eager to hear some what Cook will put out -- it's time for his career to begin. I did feel rather upset that Archuletta lost, because I think his dream was really crushed - moreso than the time he went to Disney World and didn't have the chance to meet Mickey Mouse.

Regardless, both men are true American Idols (along with Syesha and Carly) -- and I look forward to seeing what the future holds.

For the record, this was the BEST show I've seen in a while and I fully intend on seeing the American Idol Season 7 gang in concert during their tour!

Over and Out.

Z.
