Story from Nicole Witover, about her dog, Chowder:

when i lived in my old apartment, i would do this thing with chowder.
we'd get off the elevator and the hallway was not long at all, there
were 4 apts to a floor so we'd get off, I'd get out of the elevator
and i'd pretend to die.
I'd fall to the floor and lie there really still to see if chowder
would react or panic or lick me awake or whatever
and....
he'd just sit there and blink at me. I'd lay there for 10 minutes
not moving
and he'd blink blink

Have you ever pretended to be dead to see your dog's reaction??
