So, there is this guy on the PATH train that I see like clockwork. Every morning, he's on the same train as me (and I don't get on the same one every day.) Over the course of the past few months, we made eye contact and smiled - but that's all there was to it.
Naturally, I looked for a wedding band, but alas, he wasn't wearing one. I think that's normal, right? So here are my thoughts:
If a guy is interested in a girl, it's so easy for him to see if she's taken or not -- I mean, REALLY taken, by way of an engagement ring. I mean, sure she may have a boyfriend, but with the spotting of an engagement ring, the guy may as well forget about it. WELL, imagine my surprise when I spot my PATH crush on Monday morning outfitted with a WEDDING BAND! Yes, I pay close attention to detail, obvi. I just don't think it's fair that a man can quickly tell when a woman isn't available, but a woman cannot do the same for a man until he's like, um, REALLY unavailable.
Those are my thoughts.
That is one reason why I don't want an engagement ring if I get engaged (I don't really want to get married at all, but that's a whole 'nother story).
