Jim Thornton is the new show announcer for Wheel of Fortune. Thornton succeeds Charlie O'Donnell in this position who died last fall and was the game show's voice announcer for 28 years. Thornton has been a guest announcer throughout Wheel's 28th season and will take over full-time when season 29 kicks off on September 19. Sony Pictures Television, a Sony Pictures Entertainment Company produces Wheel of Fortune which is distributed domestically by CBS Television Distribution.
