A new original half-hour real-life series highlights meddling in-laws when A&E Network premieres Monster In-Laws on October 24 at 10p.  Each episode features a married couple revealing their in-law problems to experienced relationship experts.

Portia de Rossi (Better Off Ted, Ally McBeal) is banking on making a return to TV in a comedy picked up by NBC.  The network approved the comedy about dueling sisters (with de Rossi playing one of the sisters) in a put pilot deal which would be executive produced by de Rossi's wifeEllen DeGeneres via her company A Very Good Production based at Warner Bros. Television.  Don Todd is on board as writer for the multi-camera comedy.


Reba McEntire is also looking to make a comeback on television in a multi-camera comedy called Malibu Country bought by ABC.  McEntire, who previously starred in The CW comedy Reba will executive produce and star in the new project about a woman whose rock star husband cheats on her and leaves her in debt.  After a divorce, the main character moves herself and her three children from Nashville to Malibu where she attempts to re-launch her own singing career.  Kevin Abbott, producer on The CW's Reba is on board to write Malibu Country.


The classic fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast is getting a dusting off as ABC is developing a new version produced by ABC Studios.  Jonathan E. Steinberg (Human Target, Jericho) will write and executive produce the one-hour fantasy/drama based on the romantic story.  Gary Fleder and Mary Beth Basile of Mojo Films will also serve as executive producer.


Long-time TV show host Regis Philbin has no plans to retire after serving 28 years as head of his talk show, Live! With Regis and Kelly, reportsTHR.  Instead, Philbin said on Friday footage has been shot in the last week for a reality series pilot in Los Angeles titled This Week With Regis!.  The series follows Philbin in his real-life activities.
ABC's sitcom Cougar Town cast Sarah Chalke in a multi-episode run for season three playing Angie, a college photography professor and new love interest for Bobby (Brian Van Holt).
