ZlataThoughts Hanukkah Dinner Menu

Hanukkah - Real Housewives of Palm Beach - Style!

In the Russian Jewish culture, there are no such things as official courses.  Sure there are appetizers, main dishes, salads and side dishes - but they're all put out on the table at the same time in an elaborate smorgasbord of goodness.  You eat, you take a break, you smoke a cigarette or two, you come back to the table, you eat again, the table is then cleared (by the women, while the men continue to take their second break,) and then tea, coffee and dessert is served.

This year, I'm hosting a Hanukkah dinner at my house for some friends and family.  The below is what I plan to cook for dinner.

  1. Potato Latkes (duh)
  2. Zucchini Latkes
  3. Brisket with Portobello Mushrooms and Dried Cranberries
  4. Roasted Green Beans
  5. Roasted Eggplant Spread
  6. Pickled Red-Cabbage Slaw
  7. Homemade Applesauce with Cranberries and Cinnamon
  8. Zucchini and Carrots with Green Onions and Dill
  9. Stuffing Squares
  10. Glazed Carrots
  11. Berry Napoleons with Sugared Wonton Wrappers (dessert)
  12. Hanukkah Gelt Surprise (Homemade chocolate goodies)
I've made a shopping list and checked it twice. Heading out to Costco and Publix in a little bit.  And that's how it went.
