Vote for Fair Lawn Cutters!

You know, the past three years of my life have been a whirlwind.  I married my best friend, I turned vegetarian, I quit smoking and I'm overall just a better person. All of that pales in comparison to the ultimate news: USA Today named Fair Lawn High School as one of the top five mascots in the nation. Let me repeat: IN THE NATION.

As the story goes, the Fair Lawn High School Cutters are named after a bunch of football players who, about 70 years ago, cut class to go to a movie. They ended up suspended for the first half of their next game, but once they got into the game in the second half, Fair Lawn won! When newspaper headlines read, "Fair Lawn Cutters Made a Win," the name stuck. And that's the story of our beloved Fair Lawn Cutters.

USA Today encourages voters to choose their favorite mascot, with Fair Lawn being one of five other candidates, including Point Pleasant Beach Garnet Gulls, Red Bank Catholic Caseys, Phillipsburg Stateliners, and Trenton Catholic Iron Mikes. The contest is running until Tuesday, March 5th at 3:00 p.m., so VOTE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN for the FAIR LAWN CUTTERS.

Should we make it into the next rounds (there are several), Fair Lawn Cutters have a chance to win $2,000 for the school.
