The Many Birth Control Dramas Related to the Kardashians

The Kardashian family has been in the limelight ever since the popular television show “Keeping up with the Kardashians” first aired in 2007. Many people enjoy following the lives, loves, and drama surrounding Kim, Khloe, Kris, Kylie, Kourtney, Kendall, and Rob. One of the on-going subjects related to many of the Kardashian girls is birth control. Many of the girls have admitted to being put on contraception at a young age and feel that this has caused them to suffer from fertility issues, while others publicly stated that they no longer use birth control simply because they no longer believe in it. Because the Kardashians are constantly in the public eye due to their television show and many talk show appearances, they have had many articles written about them and their sex lives on numerous celebrity comment sites and magazines. Several of the girls are very open about their choices regarding family planning.

Kourtney no Longer Believes in Birth Control

Between the many Kardashian girls, the family is already large. However, Kourtney announced in 2012 that she no longer believed in birth control, and was therefore going to stop taking it. The 33-year-old mother stated after giving birth to her daughter that she no longer believed in birth control. She also stated that she wanted to have more children as quickly as possible. Kourtney already has two children with her long-term boyfriend Scott. A son, Mason, and daughter, Penelope. On an episode of the popular show “Keeping up with the Kardashians” she joked with her boyfriend about how many children they could fit in the house. During the same show, Scott stated that he did not want to be outnumbered by his children. Since then, it has been rumored that the couple are now living apart, and Scott is rarely seen on family outings.

Kim Says She Was Put on Birth Control at Fourteen

Kim Kardashian has stated in an interview with Oprah that her mother, Kris, agreed to place her on birth control when she was only fourteen years old because she wanted to have sex with her boyfriend. Kim claims that she told her mother that she thought she was going to have sex and her mother agreed to put her on birth control. Kim is no stranger to having her sex life in the public eye and first became famous when a sex tape was revealed featuring her and ex-boyfriend Ray J. Many people believed that she released the tape herself in order to find fame.

Kim Blames Fertility Problems in Birth Control

When Kim announced that she was pregnant with Kanye West’s baby, so quickly after they had started dating, it was a surprise to almost everyone. According to previous interviews, Kim suffered with a number of fertility problems, including a diminished egg supply and suppressed hormones due to the many years she used the birth control pill. However, there is no medical evidence to back up these claims, and Kim became pregnant with Kanye’s baby very quickly. The baby was born in June, 2013. Another scandal surrounding the Kardashians happened when Kendall Jenner, the youngest sister was found to be on birth control at the age of fifteen. Her mother and manager Kris refused to say why Kendall was put on birth control at such an early age, especially after the fertility problems that Kim claims to have faced. However, older sister Khloe tried to explain the reasons behind Kendell’s birth control and claims that it was not to avoid an unwanted pregnancy, but possibly to treat menstrual problems or acne.  

Kim, Kanye, and North West

Despite claimed fertility problems due to taking the birth control pill for so long, Kim Kardashian gave birth to Kanye West’s daughter on June 152013. It was predicted that the baby would be given a name beginning with K, but Kim and Kanye wanted to choose something completely different. North West was Kanye’s first choice for a name, but Kim originally said that the name was out of the question. Rumor has it that the child has been given the nickname Nori, which is Japanese for seaweed. Although a directional name may seem a little weird, North West is not the only celebrity baby with such a name. Others include Jenna Fisher’s son Weston, and Marley Shelton’s daughter, West.
