Picking a bone with Woman's World

Since I'm "in the biz," I subscribe to many many publications. I search for latest trends, new editors, new sections, etc. I have to say that out of all the publications I read on a daily basis, Woman's World really bothers me. They promote health and wellness in the first few pages, but later on show all these different recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner that are RIDICULOUSLY caloric. I don't understand the point of this. That's my thought on that.

Next, Marley and Me. I started a book club with my roommate, conveniently dubbed HoBOOKlub, and first on our list was M&Me. I gotta tell you - although I'll be reviewing it with the ladies on Wednesday - I HATED it. I don't know if I have to see the movie as well, or what - but I feel like I could write a book about my trip to the local zoo and have it be better. Of course, I understand the novel's premise, I'm not completely naive, but this life lesson (of it being short and cherishing moments) shouldn't come across to people through the story of a man's life with his dog. I have more thoughts, but don't to ruin our meeting on Wednesday.

Peace out.
