- Create filters for friends: Now that you have the ability to organize friends based on any category you want (it's personal and not public view,) these contacts are now organized as such in your Chat Contact List, much like an AIM buddy list would be. For example, I've separated my friends primarily by Fair Lawn, Ketchum, Media, etc. -- and that's how they're now grouped on my Chat list. You can move the groups up or down, depending on your priorities.
- Control which friends see you online: So, you can be invisible to some and online to others. So, if you don't want your boss to see you're on Facebook, while you're making plans this weekend with Peggy Sue, your High School sweetheart - no worries, just appear offline to Mrs. Boss.
- Pop Out Chat: Useful for those who don't use this as a primary chat (me) to chat with people who DO use it as a primary chat (Kevin Devine - my ex.)

Facebook New Chat Features
So sometimes you're on Facebook catching up on what people are doing, where they're going, how they look in pictures from this past weekend, etc. -- you know, the usual when you're a fan of Stalk Nation. Sometimes, I'm online and people IM me and I think "hot damn, I really can't deal with this right now." I have always been bummed that there was no way to appear offline. I mean, what's with your Terms of Service and privacy, FB??? In any event, that's now possible, along with new fun, thanks to an upgrade to Facebook's Chat:
