MisMatch or Great Catch??

















Look, I'm not trying to be a douchebag here, because I know that beauty is skindeep and all that bullshit, BUT...this is the image that pops up when you visit the JDate website. For those of you who aren't with it, JDate is a dating website similar to Match, but just for tribesmen.

Let's dissect this picture a bit, shall we? The guy - not so good looking. I'm sorry, but he's not. The girl, to me, is hot. I think she's gorgeous, actually - but I'm partial to brunettes. This picture sends two different messages to JDaters:
  1. To the men: Even if you're not good looking, you can land yourself a hot chick off of the J. Just be persistent.
  2. To the women: You should probably accept invitations to dates from all walks of life, because you never really know who will end up being "the one."
Not for nothing, but my profile is on here - whatever, why not, right? I used to be embarrassed, but I got over that. I'm not a paying member and very rarely go on - so if someone sends me a message, I can't see it or anything. As a non-paying member, your only options really are to check people out and see who's checking you out. You can chat via IM, but you can't initiate the chat. I'm IMmed all the time by men who are just not my type...and I just don't answer them. So, seeing this picture of a 2 with an 8 really just pisses me off.
Going on looks alone, here are other couples I find to be a complete mismatch (feel free to judge the fact that I'm a complete and total bitch for posting this):

    I totally saw that main picture and thought the same thing about a lot of those pics. the bottom right couple looks like they match though...but yeah, not the best way to advertise for the laaaaddieesss

    I have to disagree. He's not that bad looking. True, she is smokin' but he's not terrible. The other pics are something else, but leading with that first pic wasn't a good example in proving your point. He looks like a tool as in "Tool Academy" type tool. Jewish girls go tools too and there are PLENTY of Jewish guys who are tools.

    Oh but don't we know that this is the way the world works. Just ask Judd Apatow. The dorky ugly guy can always get the hot chick because women are supposed to be less superficial than guys and look at the person inside and all that bullcrap.

    I don't think #3 at the top right is a mismatch. In fact, I think their looks are so on par with one another that they look like they could be brother and sister.
